Our First ASAE Annual Experience

Our company, CPS Cards,  services many industries, including associations and membership organizations.  So this past week, we headed off to Detroit for the ASAE (American Society of Association Executives) Annual Meeting & Expo to meet some of these folks. It was our first time to exhibit at this expo, so we did not know what to expect. We were pleasantly surprised by the number of Detroit volunteers and ASAE staffers that greeted us, helped us and directed us throughout the week. Having been an event planner in the past, I understand the amount of organization and attention to detail that it takes to pull off an event and the gang at ASAE did an amazing job!  From organizing shuttles, to pulling off amazing evening events, they really know how to make each day special for the attendees.

And speaking of attendees, we met so many interesting association folks – from 20+ year vets to newbies testing the waters.  In our conversations, we gained a lot of insight into the world of membership and discovered some of the attendees tougher day-to-day challenges. It really helps us to understand how we can better service our association and membership clients. We also learned that these folks enjoy a good party!  (If you are ever in Detroit the Henry Ford Museum is a must!)

Overall, we had a very positive experience and look forward to working with the folks we met.  More than anything, we hope to continue the conversation so that we can continue to learn.
