CPS Cards’ Employees Donate Over 100 Pounds of Food to Second Harvest Food Bank
CPS Cards has again partnered with the Second Harvest Food Bank in Allentown, Pa. to provide meals for several families this holiday season. CPS employees were asked to donate much needed items (such as canned and dry goods, peanut butter & jelly and cereal) to support Second Harvest’s mission to distribute food to nearly 72,000 people in need each month. The food bank, which serves a six-county area, distributed nearly 7 million pounds of food last year through its network of member agencies that include emergency food pantries, shelters, soup kitchens, and child care and senior centers. CPS Cards matched their employees’ contributions, resulting in a donation of 184 pounds of food, which equates to more than 140 meals for families in need.
“We are proud of the contributions that our employees make each year,” said Tom Knaus, president of CPS Cards. “Supporting a local organization, such as Second Harvest, provides us with an opportunity to give back to the people within our community and help them enjoy a nice holiday meal with their families.”
Second Harvest welcomes donations, which can be made at their warehouse at 2045 Harvest Way in Allentown, Monday through Friday between 7:00am and 2:30pm. For more information or to organize a food drive, contact Second Harvest at 610-434-0875.
