National Sales Representative, Healthcare

As a leader in the printing industry, we produce more than 400 million cards and packages annually for a variety of markets, including retail, membership, telecom and direct mail.  Our recent growth has spurred interest in further developing our reach into the healthcare market, where we have already had several successes.  To elevate our presence in this space, we are seeking a National Sales Representative that can grow our healthcare business through our diversified portfolio of solutions.  The ideal candidate would have a background selling products and services to the healthcare industry, is knowledgeable about the evolving marketplace and could identify and develop relationships with decision makers at the C-level.

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Increase sales, revenue, and margin within the healthcare sector while effectively managing the cost of sales (i.e., call-to-close ratio and cost-per-call)
  • Target primarily healthcare, pharmaceutical, marketing and other third-party companies
  • Identify and develop relationships with key decision makers, their colleagues and staff; develop an understanding of the customer’s goals and growth objectives
  • Implement short and long term strategies to sell solutions to each account
  • Develop and maintain current account development plan/call plans for each client and prospect
  • Design and develop competitive strategies to gain share in the healthcare market
  • Participate in and/or lead special projects, as requested
  • Act as a mentor to other team members by sharing market information while influencing and learning from other team members; participate in training programs and contribute to process improvement
  • Adhere to company requests for forecasts, budgets, and reporting, including monthly sales updates and updates to SalesForce
  • Understand technology offerings and capabilities from the client/prospect perspective
  • Positive/proactive/collaborative interaction with our manufacturing facilities and leadership team
  • Manage sales discussions when internal process changes are required
  • Minimize revenue and margin erosion within client base through innovative solutions and value-based sales
  • Must play a key role in conveying marketing needs and solution in the market place
  • Capability and experience responding to and coordinating a corporate response to RFPs

Job Requirements & Preferred Attributes:

  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership and/or sales role in a consultative, multi-product environment
  • 5+ years of experience call on C-level executives
  • Previous experience in the healthcare, payer, pharmaceutical or managed care field; knowledge of the current and evolving healthcare landscape
  • Understanding of HIPAA/HITECH compliance as it relates to our company as a business associate
  • Effective planning and organizational skills, strong ability to prioritize client/prospect requests and solid presentation skills
