CPS Cards has announced that Jim Cooney, vice president of CPS Cards, has been elected to the ICMA’s board of directors. Cooney will serve as the association’s Personalization Representative.

The International Card Manufacturers Association (ICMA) is a global non-profit association comprised of more than 230 card manufacturers, personalization experts, suppliers, issuers and participants that serve the card industry.  With members based in more than 40 countries, the ICMA serves as a forum for education, networking, idea-sharing and collaboration for the card manufacturing industry.

“We are extremely proud of Jim and his new designation,” said Tom Knaus, president of CPS Cards. “This appointment embodies Jim’s broad knowledge and expertise in the card industry, particularly with card personalization.  Having been raised by a father who was also a leader in the card industry, Jim has a passion for cards and an unwavering commitment to his co-workers, clients, and fellow manufacturers.  This is a well-deserved achievement.”

Cooney, who joined CPS Cards in 2003, has been a leading voice in the card industry for more than 20 years.  He directed the personalization of hundreds of millions of cards while managing the largest closed-loop prepaid card plant in the U.S.  Cooney serves as an integral part of CPS’ new product development and quality assurance teams and has been instrumental in the development and success of CPS Cards’ Chicago facility.  Along with his new appointment, Cooney also holds an ACE-P certification for his expertise in card personalization.
